PURPOSE: A distance measuring method of an FMCW(Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave) radar and an apparatus thereof are provided to easily improve precision in measuring the distance of a single paused target object and to reduce the load of system performance.;CONSTITUTION: A distance measuring method of an FMCW radar includes following steps. The FMCW radar wave having fixed cycle(T0) and bandwidth(B0) is transmitted to a target object. A target reference distance(R0) is calculated using a first beat frequency extracted from a reflected waveform. Based on the target reference distance, a bandwidth unit variation and a time unit variation are calculated. After multiplying the bandwidth unit variation or the time unit variation n times, changed cycle and bandwidth are retransmitted to the target object. A second beat frequency is extracted using the FMCW radar wave which is received after being reflected from the target object.
