PURPOSE: Improvement of transformation efficiency by optimization and selection improvement in production of Cymbidium plants and a method for developing drought tolerance Cymbidium plant are provided to maximize drought tolerance. CONSTITUTION: A gene gun is used for transforming Cymbidium. A method for enhancing Cymbidium transformation efficiency comprises a step of coating a gold particle with a size of 1.0-1.6 micrometer with a target gene. The target gene is AtSIZ gene. The high efficiency gene transmission is performed by coating the gold particle with the target gene.
