PURPOSE: A photovoltaic device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to finely control the width of a gap passivation layer by determining the width of the gap passivation layer through the etching of a passivation layer.;CONSTITUTION: A first conductive semiconductor layer(142) is formed in a first region on the rear of a semiconductor substrate(110). A first transparent conductive layer(143) is formed on the first conductive semiconductor layer. A second conductive semiconductor layer(152) is formed in a second region on the rear of the semiconductor substrate. A second transparent conductive layer(153) is formed on the second conductive semiconductor layer.
