PURPOSE: A portable terminal for remotely controlling an electronic display board and a control method thereof are provided to control the configuration of the electronic display board using an application of the portable terminal.;CONSTITUTION: A user input unit(220) receives a user control signal for one or more electronic display boards. A control unit(240) activates a control application of the electronic display board according to a user request signal. The control unit connects to one or more electronic display boards through the control application of the activated electronic display board. The control unit executes an information editing function and an electronic display board control function according to the user control signal.
