PURPOSE: A terminal and a method for updating an application according to an OS(Operating System) version are provided to operate the application suitable for the OS version by automatically downloading an updated application for supporting the OS version. CONSTITUTION: An OS management unit(120) confirms an application downloaded from an application supplying server and an OS version and manages OS version information. An application management unit(130) receives the OS version information from the OS management unit, transmits the OS version information to the application management server, and receives application information updated for supporting the OS version. An application executing unit(140) executes the application. The OS management unit confirms a change of the OS version. If the OS version is changed, the OS management unit upgrades an OS to the changed OS version.
