PURPOSE: An excel function guide providing method and a system thereof are provided to quickly and visually supply contents of a cell without a screen switch by providing information about factors of a function through a graphic interface. CONSTITUTION: A cell information extracting unit(310) extracts functions supported by an excel program and a factor set about the functions from data stored in a specific cell. A graphic interface unit(330) generates a graphic interface visually providing the functions or the factor set. If there is a factor cell in the factor set, a control unit(320) extracts the factor set or the functions and overlaps the graphic interface with a partial area of an excel screen being currently displayed.
