PURPOSE: A biomarker for detecting exposure to chromium is provided to accurately and excellently detect the exposure of a test subject to chromium and to identify effect of chromium to various diseases or health. CONSTITUTION: A biomarker for detecting exposure to chromium contains a gene of sequence number 1, 2, or 3. The biomarker additionally contains one or more genes selected from the group consisting of genes of sequence numbers 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28. A microarray chip for detecting exposure to chromium has DNA, cDNA, RNA of the gene of sequence number 1, 2, or 3, and complementary molecule thereof. A method for detecting the exposure to chromium comprises a step of analyzing expression change of marker genes in a cell using the DNA, cDNA, RNA of the gene of sequence number 1, 2, or 3, and complementary molecules thereof.
