PURPOSE: A chip for artificial marble is provided to prevent surface chip separation, and to reduce the weight of the artificial marble by containing metal particles with a foamed or opened cell structure. CONSTITUTION: A chip for artificial marble contains metal particles with a foamed or opened cell structure. The average diameter of the metal particles is 2-7mm, and the average diameter of pores located inside or outside of the metal particles is 0.1-5mm. the Barcol hardness (GYZJ 934-1, Barber Colman company) of the metal particles is 20-55. The artificial marble contains: 100 parts of artificial marble matrix by weight; 1-20 parts of chips by weight for the artificial marble having a foamed or opened cell structure; 40-220 parts of inorganic filler by weight; and 0.0001-5 parts of pigment by weight.
