PURPOSE: An alternating current (AC) electric power quality improvement device using a super capacitor and a method thereof are provided to prevent voltage drop by effectively compensating active power and reactive power.;CONSTITUTION: An alternating current (AC) / direct current (DC) converter (104) converts AC power into DC power. The AC/DC converter converts the DC power into the AC power. A bi-directional DC/DC converter (105) performs the charge and discharge in a super capacitor. An energy storing unit (106) charges electricity by the bi-directional DC/DC converter.
