PURPOSE: A method for treating sewage/wastewater and a device for the same are provided to remove bad odor while high efficiently removing nutritive salts such as nitrogen and phosphorus and organic materials by a chemical and biological treating process. CONSTITUTION: A method for treating sewage/wastewater comprises a water collecting bath (1), an anaerobic bath (2) for inducing the release of phosphorus, an anoxic bath (3) for denitrification, an aerobic bath (4) for microorganism treatment, a precipitating bath (5), and an activating bath (6) which activates microorganisms in a precipitated sludge (51). A plant extract is injected into at least one of a water collecting bath and an aerobic bath. A part of a sludge from the precipitating bath is returned to the anaerobic bath. A part of the sludge from the activating bath is returned to at least one of the water collecting bath, the anaerobic bath, the anoxic bath, and the aerobic bath. Bacillus subtilis GU01 (Deposition number: KCCM 10890P) is injected into the aerobic bath.
