PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus which is connectable with the hosts and a method of controlling the image forming tasks in the image forming apparatus are provided to equip the universal serial bus (USB) interfaces, thereby enabling the hosts to share one image forming apparatus even in an environment where the network environment is not prepared.;CONSTITUTION: The USB interfaces (111-113) are connected to the hosts and receive the task requesting data of the image forming tasks which are requested from the hosts. The USB driver modules (121-123) process the task requesting data which is received through the USB interfaces. A USB data management unit (140) uses the task requesting data to generate the task data, which corresponds to the types of the requested image forming tasks.
