PURPOSE: Speaker front volume usage is provided to control the low frequency sound quality of a speaker driver in an extended back volume area.;CONSTITUTION: An enclosure (104) includes a top wall (106), a bottom wall (108), a side wall (110) connecting the top wall and the bottom wall, an acoustic output opening (124), and a back volume. A speaker driver is arranged in the enclosure and includes a sound radiating surface (114) having a top face and a bottom face for emitting sound waves. A frame member is attached to the speaker driver and forms a front volume chamber (128) acoustically connecting the top face of the sound radiating surface to the acoustic output opening and a back volume chamber (130) acoustically connecting the bottom face of the sound radiating surface to the back volume.
