PURPOSE: A system for regenerating a water permeable reactive barrier by automatically spraying chemical for preventing the diffusion of pollution and a method for the same are provided to extend the lifespan of a water permeable reactive barrier by automatically injecting chemical when the concentration of pollutant in underground water exceeds a predetermined value and recovering the performance of filler. CONSTITUTION: A system for regenerating a water permeable reactive barrier comprises an automatic injecting tubular well (2), a chemical tank (4), and a control unit (3). The automatic injecting tubular well is installed in a water permeable reactive barrier (1), senses pollutants, and injects chemical. The chemical tank stores chemical which regenerates the water permeable reactive barrier. The control unit determines the injection of chemical into the automatic injecting tubular well according to the sensed concentration of pollutant and transmits signals to the chemical tank.
