PURPOSE: A method of forming a wetland is provided to reduce greenhouse gas by delaying the decomposition of organic materials and promoting the accumulation rate of carbon of the wetland using Phragmites australis and sphagnum. CONSTITUTION: Phragmites australis is planted on object wet soil. Sphagnum is planted around the planted area of the Phragmites australis. The planting rate of the sphagnum around unit planted area of the Phragmites australis is 20-100%. The wet soil has the phenolic content of 0.007-0.39 mg/L. The rate between the stem length of the Phragmites australis and the length of sphagnum cephalodia is 10-20:1.
