PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition for treatment of liver cancer or health food are provided to inhibit proliferation of the liver cancer cell having the drug resistance, and to be able to be usefully used in preventing and treating liver cancer with bad prognosis by inhibiting the anti-apoptotic effect of Bcl-2 gene.;CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for prevention or treatment of liver cancer includes etoposide represented by Chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient. The etoposide inhibits proliferation of the liver cancer cell and induces apoptosis. The etoposide inhibits proliferation of the liver cancer cell and induces autophagy. The etoposide inhibits proliferation of the liver cancer cell by stopping the cell cycle in the G1 or S phase. Health food for prevention or alleviation of liver cancer includes etoposide represented by Chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
