PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a control method thereof are provided to enable a user to conveniently attach a file which is attached to a message writing window to a text input window by using a drag and drop method.;CONSTITUTION: A display unit (151) displays a message writing window. The message writing window includes a first area and a second area. The first area displays one or more attached file names. The second area displays the inputted texts.
