PURPOSE: A super strength aluminum cast alloy and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to replace an existing 201 alloy which is a super strength aluminum casting alloy and contains expensive Ag.;CONSTITUTION: A super strength aluminum cast alloy excludes expensive Ag, and includes, in wt%: Cu: more than 5.0-less than 6.5; Mn: 0.3-0.5; Ti: 0.15-0.45%; Zr: 0.01-0.05; and Cd: 0.08-0.2%. A direct electron pulse treatment is performed for a melted aluminum alloy to have a refined structure. Segregation and oxide are controlled to have 500 MPa of tensile strength which is significantly improved from the existing 430 MPa. The super strength aluminum cast alloy contains 5.5-6.0 wt% of Cu.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
