PURPOSE: A routing system and method using torus topology in an on-chip network are provided to minimize the size of an additional buffer by deadlock recovery with tokens (DRT) while utilizing wires provided in a 2D torus topology. CONSTITUTION: A destination router confirming unit (740) confirms a destination router of a flit stored in the header of a buffer. A captured token processing unit (750) transmits or deletes a captured token that is generated or received according to a state of the buffer included in the destination router, to the destination router via a token network. When the generated or received captured token is transmitted to the destination router and the transmitted token is received again, a deadlock confirming unit (760) confirms a deadlock occurrence in a torus network.
