PURPOSE: An adhesive for a high temperature superconducting tape is provided to be able to adhere/connect while maintaining the superconducting state of a connection part in adhering/connecting two high temperature superconducting tapes. CONSTITUTION: An adhesive comprises thin films (12a,12b) deposited with a composition of Re-Ba-Cu-O with a melting point of 850deg.C or lower. An adhering method of a high temperature superconducting tape comprises a step of forming thin films deposited with a composition of Re-Ba-Cu-O with a melting point of 850deg.C or lower on the facing surface of two high temperature superconducting tapes (10a,10b); a step of pressurizing and heating so that the adhesive melts in the state of a low oxygen partial pressure while heating with pressurizing so as to adhere the formed thin films; and a step of obtaining a superconducting phase + a secondary phase of the high temperature superconducting tape by rapidly increasing the oxygen partial pressure.
