PURPOSE: An AP scanning apparatus of a WLAN terminal and a method thereof are provided to indicate an available state of an AP when the WLAN terminal scans an accessible AP and displays the AP on a screen.;CONSTITUTION: A control unit (50) scans an AP which is accessible through a WLAN communication unit. The control unit controls access and release between the scanned AP and the communication unit. A communication test unit (20) performs test communications through the AP which accesses the WLAN communication unit. A determination unit (30) determines the available state of the AP which accesses the WLAN communication unit by using the result of the test communications performed by the communication test unit.
