PURPOSE: A composition containing a mixture of hot water extracts of Curcuma longa Radix, Acorus gramineus Soland, and Polygala tenuifolia is provided to improve cognitive ability and memory and to be used as pharmaceutical products and health foods for treating Alzheimer's disease.;CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for improving cognitive ability and memory contains a mixture of hot water extracts of Curcuma longa Radix, Acorus gramineus Soland, and Polygala tenuifolia which are mixed in a weight ratio of 0.1-10:0.1-10:0.1-10. A food composition for improving cognitive ability and memory contains the mixture as an active ingredient.
