FIRMWARE MAINTENANCE METHOD OF A DIGITAL PROTECTIVE RELAY, USING A NOTICE FOR THE FIRMWARE UPDATE, AND A DIGITAL PROTECTIVE RELAY THEREOF

PURPOSE: A firmware maintenance method of a digital protective relay and a digital protective relay thereof are provided to reduce the time and cost of maintenance and of field engineering by updating a firmware of a digital protective relay (DPR) by using an interface port which is mounted on the front side of a distribution board without opening the distribution board or removing an outer case.;CONSTITUTION: A main processing module (121) receives the information, which is related to the firmware update, from a master unit (300); informs an object module, which requires the firmware update, of the firmware update based on the information related to the firmware update; and downloads the firmware from the master unit. The object module transmits a message of the update readiness to the main processing module by receiving the notice of the firmware update, and installs the firmware which is received from the main processing module.
