PURPOSE: A keyboard layout setting method for a portable terminal is provided to reduce typing errors as domains of characters in which frequent typing errors are predicted are adjusted to be easily typed when the predicted characters are set.;CONSTITUTION: When characters corresponding to character domains to be enlarged or to minified are inputted by a user, a keyboard layout setting unit (370) enlarges or minifies the character domains corresponding to the inputted characters at a predetermined rate, thereby setting the layout of a keyboard.
