PURPOSE: A multi core system and a method for load balancing of the multi core system are provided to improve load balancing efficiency by minimizing load balancing time and power as the number of cores increases. CONSTITUTION: A load comparison unit (LCOM) detects a maximum load and a minimum load, by comparing loads of more than three cores at the same time. A load migration unit (LMIG) determines a core having the maximum load as a source core, and determines a core having the minimum load as a target core, and moves the load from the source core to the target core. The load comparison unit comprises a maximum load detection unit and a minimum load detection unit. The maximum load detection unit detects a maximum value by comparing load weights generated from runqueue of the cores. The minimum load detection unit detects a minimum value, by comparing load weights generated from the runqueue of the cores.
