PURPOSE: A multiview video coding/decoding method is provided to improve the compression rate. CONSTITUTION: A pixel value of a reference block within a reference frame and a pixel value of a current block within an encoded frame are received. A pixel adjacent to the reference block of the reference frame and a pixel adjacent to the current block of currently encoded frame are decoded and a recovered value is received. A relationship between the value of the pixel adjacent to the reference block and the recovered value of the pixel adjacent to the current block and the value of the pixel adjacent to the reference block and the value of the pixel adjacent to the reference value are determined. Difference compensation lighting, contrast compensation lighting and contrast compensation parameter between the reference block and the encoded block are determined based on the value of the pixel adjacent to the reference block, the recovered value of the pixel adjacent to the current block and the determined relationships. The lighting and contrast compensation between the reference block and encoded block using the determined lighting and contrast compensation parameter are performed.
