COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING THE EXTRACT OF IDESIA POLYCARPA FRUIT OF THE COMPOUNDS DERIVED THEREFROM FOR INHIBITING ADIPOGENESIS

PURPOSE: A composition containing an Idesia polycarpa fruit extract or a compound isolated from the extract for suppressing adipogenesis is provided to suppress accumulation of lipid in subcutaneous fat or intra-abdominal fat, thereby preventing or treating diseases caused by abnormal lipid metabolism. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating lipid metabolic diseases contains one or more selected among: a compound of chemical formula I or II wherein R is hydrogen, 4-hydroxy-phenyl beta-D-glucopyranoside, or 6-hydroxy-phenyl beta-D-glucopyranoside; a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and a solvate thereof as active ingredients. The pharmaceutical composition contains a C1-C4 alcohol extract of Idesia polycarpa fruits or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or a solvate thereof as an active ingredient.
