PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for obtaining a tissue Doppler image are provided to efficiently track and observe a cardiac function in congenital and acquired heart diseases by quantitatively evaluating a heart rate.;CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic signal is transmitted to an object (S100). An ultrasonic response signal is received from the object (S200). The received ultrasonic response signal is filtered by using a tunable filter (S300). The frequency of the received ultrasonic response signal is estimated based on the filtered data (S400).
