APPARATUS AND A METHOD FOR PROCESSING THE SURFACE IMAGE OF A THICK PLATE BY A CROSS LIGHT CAPABLE OF DETECTING THE FAULT GENERATED LENGTHILY IN A MATERIAL TRAVELLING DIRECTION BY PROCESSING THE SURFACE IMAGE OF THE THICK PLATE BY THE CROSS LIGHT
PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for processing the surface image of a thick plate by a cross light are provided to accurately detect the fault, such as scratch by correcting the surface image of a thick plate by a cross light through image processing.;CONSTITUTION: An apparatus and a method for processing the surface image of a thick plate by a cross light include an image separation unit (211), a profile generation unit (212), an image correction unit (214), and an image recovery unit (215). The image separation unit separates the surface image of the thick plate obtained by cross lights (L1,L2) into the first image of an odd line and the second image of an even line. The profile generation unit generates a first projection profile with respect to the first image and a second projection profile with respect to the second image. The image correction unit corrects the first and second images into the grey level value of the cross point in which the first projection profile and the second projection profile cross.
