PURPOSE: A device and method for detecting the abnormal state of a cooling cycle for a refrigerator are provided to prevent a malfunction in a refrigerator by easily detecting whether an output pipe of a refrigerant flow valve and a capillary tube of an evaporator are normally connected to each other.;CONSTITUTION: A device for detecting the abnormal state of a cooling cycle for a refrigerator comprises a freezer compartment temperature sensor (11), a refrigerator compartment temperature sensor (12), and a control unit (20). The freezer compartment and refrigerator compartment temperature sensors are installed in the connection pipe between a refrigerant flow valve connected to a dryer and an evaporator and detect the temperature of a refrigerant discharged from the refrigerant flow valve.
