PURPOSE: A multi-port passive optical network (PON) extension device and an optical signal transmitting method using the same are provided to extend a transmission distance and the number of branches in a PON system. CONSTITUTION: A multi-port signal control part (12) generates a multi-port control signal. A multi-port signal re-modulation part (14a) re-modulates an electric signal converted through a first interface part. The multi-port signal re-modulation part determines at least one second port to output the re-modulated electric signal by using the multi-port control signal generated through the multi-port signal control part. A second interface part (16a) converts the electric signal, which was re-modulated through the multi-port signal re-modulation part, into an optical signal. The second interface part outputs the converted optical signal through the at least one second port determined above.
