PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing a nano-layered light guide plate is provided to form the nano-layered light guide plate comprising a plurality of at least two alternating material layers, thereby facilitating the efficient extraction, distribution, and realignment of light.;CONSTITUTION: A display device (100) uses a light guide plate (10) as part of a backlight assembly (32). Light from a light source assembly (20) is coupled to the light guide plate through an incident surface (12). A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel (30) controls light irradiated from the light emitting surface (14) of the light guide plate in the backlight assembly. One or more additional films shown as films (22,24) are provided as part of the backlight assembly for improving other characteristics of light emitted from the light guide plate or provides polarization to the light passing through the LCD panel. A light reflector is disposed under the light guide plate adjacent to a generally structured surface (16) to improve the extraction efficiency of light from a light source.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
