A can coupler for can communication in a multi-can network according to the present invention includes a message receiving module for extracting and receiving a new message generated at a source can network, and a message receiving buffer for temporarily storing a new message received by the message receiving module. According to the present invention, by using a part of the ID field as a can network identification ID area for identifying a can network, a memory size and a computation amount required for message transmission between nodes in a multi-can network composed of a plurality of can networks are reduced. Therefore, the message transmission speed can be greatly improved.
