The present invention relates to a can coupler and a can coupling method for can communication in a multi can network. A can coupler for can communication in a multi-can network according to the present invention includes a message receiving module for extracting and receiving a new message generated at a source can network, and a message receiving buffer for temporarily storing a new message received by the message receiving module. Module, a can network identification module for identifying an ID field of a new message temporarily stored in the message receiving buffer module to identify a destination can network to which the new message is to be transmitted, and a new message in which the destination can network is identified to the destination can network. And a message sending module for temporarily storing a message before the transmission, and a message sending module for sending a new message temporarily stored in the message sending module to the destination can network. According to the present invention, by using a part of the ID field as a can network identification ID area for identifying a can network, a memory size and a computation amount required for message transmission between nodes in a multi-can network composed of a plurality of can networks are reduced. Therefore, the message transmission speed can be greatly improved.
