PURPOSE: A composition containing Hippophae rhamnoides extract or compound isolated from the extract is provided to prevent and treat diseases caused by IL-6. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating rhinovirus infectious diseases contains ethanol extract of Hippophae rhamnoides. A food composition for preventing or treating rhinovirus infectious diseases contains Hippophae rhamnoides extract. The pharmaceutical composition also contains quercetin 3-glycoside-7-rhamnoside of chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient. Quecetin 3-glycoside-7-rhamnoside is isolated from Hippophae rhamnoides.
