PURPOSE: A method for estimating the thickness of a base part of a softening cohesive zone is provided to predict an abnormal operation state and control the distribution of charged materials. CONSTITUTION: A method for estimating the thickness of a base part of a softening cohesive zone comprises the steps of: extracting pressure values measured at pressure measurement points formed in the circumferential direction of a furnace body at each pressure detection height point(100), calculating the standard deviation values of pressure measurement points at each pressure detection height point(200), calculating the average value of the standard deviation values(300), comparing the average value with a predetermined reference value and determining a reference value of base part checking(400), comparing the reference value of base part checking with the standard deviation values to determine a base part detecting point at each pressure detection height point(500), and adding up the number of pressure detection height points where a base part is checked to calculate a thickness index of the base part(600).
