PURPOSE: A steam generator for an energy recovery apparatus using pyrolysis of waste materials is provided to use thermal energy of combustion gas effectively because a combustion gas passage is formed a spiral shape to extend time for passing the combustion gas through the passage. CONSTITUTION: A steam generator(100) for an energy recovery apparatus(200) using pyrolysis of waste materials comprises a lower body(110), an upper body(120), a water spray(140), a steam exhaust port(150), and a water heating pipe(160). The lower body includes inner and outer spiral passages and an annular steam generating chamber. The inner and outer spiral passages guide ascending of combustion gas. The annular steam generating chamber is formed between the inner and outer spiral passages, and isolated from the inner and outer spiral passages. A combustion gas discharge pipe of the upper body guides the combustion gas, passing through the inner and outer spiral passages of the lower body, to the upper side. The water spray sprays water of the upper body to the upper part of the steam generating chamber of the lower body. The sprayed water through the water spray is changed to the steam in the steam generating chamber and the steam is discharged through a steam exhaust port. The water of the upper body circulates around a heating chamber(220) so that the water can be heated by heat of the heating chamber through water heating pipe.
