PRE-DISTORTION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SELF LOCAL OSCILLATOR COUPLING EFFECT IN TRANSMITTERS

PURPOSE: A pre-distortion apparatus and method for removing a local oscillator coupling effect from an output of a power amplifier are provided to obtain linear characteristics by providing a predistortion technique for compensating for the linear characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A predistorter(100) is provided to linearize nonlinear characteristics of a transmitter. A modulator(200) modulates an output signal of the predistorter. A power amplifier(300) amplifies a signal modulated through the modulator. A demodulator(400) provides feeds back of an output of a power amplifier to a base band. A coefficient estimator(500) produces the nonlinear characteristics of the transmitter using an output signal of the predistorter and a fed back signal from the demodulator. The coefficient estimator estimates the coefficient of the predistorter.
