A plastic film is provided to satisfy excellent dimensional stability and gas barrier properties, and to be useful as a plastic substrate for a display device or solar battery. A plastic film comprises a polymer and organic-inorganic composite particles. The organic-inorganic composite particles are formed from partially hydrolyzed products of a buffer composition. The buffer composition comprises at least one organic silane 20-99.99 weight% selected from the group consisting of a compound represented by chemical formula 1: (R^1)_m-Si-X_(4-m); and at least one metal alkoxide 0.01-80 weight% selected from the group consisting of a compound represented by chemical formula 2: M-(R^3)z.
