PURPOSE: A remote metering system having redundancy for communication reliability is provided to maintain one-to-one communication between a remote metering node and an access point and to manage changes of communication environment or overload of an access point. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of access points(20) each have a unique individual address and wirelessly transceive data with other access points. A plurality of remote metering nodes(10) store information about access points, scan access points, and register the access points of which signal strength is greater than a specific level to an access point list. A metering server(40) stores and manages the metering data from the plurality of remote metering nodes. A network management server(50) manages a network between the plurality of access points and the plurality of remote metering nodes. If a remote metering node having less than a specific number of access points registered exists in an access point list, the network management server displays an alarm message.
