PURPOSE: An optical fiber sensor for Cerenkov radiation proton beam therapy dosimetry using a Cerenkov radiation measurement and a measuring method thereof are provided to reduce correction caused by a difference of a material with an testing object, to have high spatial resolution, and to enable to manufacture as a multi-dimensional sensor. CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber sensor for Cerenkov radiation proton beam therapy dosimetry using a Cerenkov radiation measurement comprises a proton ray source(10), an optical fiber sensor(20), a photodetector(40), and a pair of optical fibers(30). The optical fiber sensor measures a bragg peak and a SOBP. The photodetector measures Cerenkov radiation rays. The pair of optical fibers connects the optical fiber sensor and the photodetector. When a patron is radiated in the optical fiber sesnro, the Cerenkov radiation rays generated in the optical fibers itself are transmitted to an amplifying system through the photodetector and final signals are transmitted to a computer.
