PURPOSE: A message service system using a subset font and a method thereof are provided to display a message using the font on a screen when the font is not registered in a terminal of a receiver.;CONSTITUTION: A transmitting/receiving unit(210) transmits font information and a message to a second mobile terminal through receiver information. An analysis unit(220) receives a font request signal including the message and the font information from the second mobile terminal. The analysis unit analyzes the message and the font information. The analysis unit extracts a character string and a font name from the message and the font information.
