The present invention relates to a composition for suppressing pore shrinkage or sebum secretion which comprises Potentilla chinensis extract as an active ingredient. The Potentilla chinensis extract which constitutes an active ingredient comprised in the composition according to the present invention has been confirmed to be able to inhibit the formation of complexes of SNAREs (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptors) and to inhibit the release of neurotransmitters and can therefore suitably be used as an active ingredient in compositions for suppressing pore shrinkage or sebum secretion.
