FOG REDUCTION IMAGE ENHANCER AND METHOD FOR COMPENSATING FOR VIDEO OF CCTV CAMERA

PURPOSE: A fog removal image correcting apparatus and a method capable of enhancing the image of a camera are provided to correct the faint color of a low intensity of illumination image into a clear image and are provided to remove fog from the information which is photographed or stored on a real-time basis from a CCTV camera; thereby, obtaining an image of the improved quality. CONSTITUTION: A micro controller unit (MCU) (320) automatically determines the concentration of mist which is distributed to the atmosphere within an image, which is provided from a camera, and produces a control signal for the fog removal. A video decoder (300) receives an input of a digital image signal according to the control signal, and decodes the signal. A fog correction image integrated circuit (IC) (310) prepares a luminance histogram of a faint image and determines the fog. The fog correction image IC corrects the low intensity of illumination image by the weather effect into a clear image quality.
