PURPOSE: An assistant DC power supplying apparatus for a nuclear power plant and a method thereof are provided to continually charge a storage battery by using high temperature and high pressure vapor. CONSTITUTION: Vapor from a steam generator is supplied to an assistant vapor pipe(103). An assistant turbine(105) is driven by the vapor supplied from the assistant vapor pipe. An assistant generator(107) is connected to the assistant turbine. An electric power inverter(109) converts AC current to DC current. A storage battery part(111) stores the direct current.
