PURPOSE: A delivery article sorting system, a situation recognition method for controlling the system, and a computer readable recording medium are provided to reduce manpower as a parcel is sorted by a robot manipulator. CONSTITUTION: A delivery article sorting system comprises a delivery order generator(200), a sensor system(100), a situation recognition system(300), a transfer system(400), and a robot system(500). The delivery order generator determines an optimal deliver order for each sender by using geographic information and delivery address. The system transfers delivery articles to a sorting place. The sensor system senses situation information including a shape of an article, a location, and an identifier. The situation recognition system generates drop information of the picked delivery articles based on the delivery order. The robot system controls a robot in order that the robot precisely picks up the articles according to pick up information. The robot system controls the robot in order that the robot drops the articles at sections determined for each sender in advance.
