Experimental Device and Method of restrained shrinkage of Concrete

PURPOSE: A device and a method for testing the restrained shrinkage of concrete are provided to reduce the thickness of a concrete specimen to a radial direction and vertical direction and to increase the restraint intensity of the dry shrinkage of the concrete. CONSTITUTION: A device for testing the restrained shrinkage of concrete comprises a base plate, an inner ring member(200), an outer ring member, a strain gauge, and a shielding member(500). The inner ring member is joined to a top surface of the base plate. The concrete is place between the inner and outer ring members so that a ring-shaped concrete specimen is cured for reference time. The strain gauge measures a strain of the inner ring member by being mounted in the inner circumference of the inner ring member. The shielding member is mounted to be touched to the outer circumference of the concrete specimen, thereby preventing the concrete specimen to be exposed to outside.
