PURPOSE: A system and a method for generating a single line diagram of power distribution system are provided to generate a single line diagram which includes a connections and facilities of power distribution system and the positions of facilities by actual measurement. CONSTITUTION: A method for generating a single line diagram of power distribution system comprises the steps of: tracking distribution line using system information of geographical information system and drawing a tree with nodes which is facilities of power distribution system by a node tracking unit(S801); eliminating simple connection nodes and internal nodes in the facilities on the tree by a node eliminating unit(S802); replacing connection nodes having two or more child nodes with branch point nodes and merging connection nodes having no child node into parent nodes by a node merging unit(S803); determining levels of the nodes using the tree and generating a single node diagram on which the said nodes are arranged by a node arranging unit(S804); rearranging the nodes on the single node diagram using location information of the geographical information system by a rearrangement unit(S805); mapping address data and district names to the nodes on the single line diagram using location information of the geographical information system by the rearrangement unit(S806); and displaying the single line diagram which is delivered from the rearrangement unit to the outside(S807).
