Apparatus for Reuse of Wastewater from Terephthalic Acid Manufacture Process and Method for Treating Terephthalic Acid Wastewater Using The Same

PURPOSE: A method of recycling the effluent from a terephthalic acid manufacturing process, and an apparatus using the same are provided to maintain the apparatus conveniently, to improve the production yield by recycling terephthalic acid and catalyst contained in the effluent, and to reduce the load of effluent treatment. CONSTITUTION: A method of recycling the effluent from a terephthalic acid manufacturing process comprises the following steps: a step of filtering the effluent of the terephthalic acid manufacturing process with a metallic micro filter capable of back washing, separating and collecting particulate organic substances and catalytic substances contained in the effluent, transferring the collected particulate organic substances and catalytic substances to the terephthalic acid manufacturing process, and transferring the filtered water without particulate substances; a step of adding a basic chemical to the effluent in order to ionize the unremoved organic substances and control the pH of the effluent; a step of removing the organic substances, catalytic substances, ionic substances, and chromaticity induction materials remaining in the effluent using a reverse osmosis membrane; and a step of obtaining the final treated water by removing sodium ions remaining in the effluent with a cation exchanger or removing the sodium ions and organic substances with an ion exchange membrane electro-deionization system, and recycling the final treated water as the water for the terephthalic acid manufacturing process.
