The present invention is an epoxy-styrene using a cobalt-containing zeolites as catalytically oxidized by oxygen molecules styrene provides a method to screen. Styrene-to-catalytic epoxidation of styrene epoxide was carried out using molecular oxygen under the presence of Co2 + exchanged zeolite. Molecular oxygen is obtained from air useful for the epoxidation reaction at atmospheric pressure. The presence of the adsorbed water molecules in the catalyst increases the conversion rate of styrene, without affecting the selectivity of styrene oxide. By introducing a variety of alkali and alkaline earth metal promoter in the zeolite catalyst thereby increasing the selectivity of styrene oxide. Adsorbate molecule in the present invention is cobalt exchanged zeolite catalyst and alkali and alkaline earth metal cations promoter was studied an influence on the catalytic oxidation of styrene to styrene conversion and selectivity according as the epoxidation of styrene to styrene oxide by molecular oxygen.
