PURPOSE: A zirconium boride-silicon carbide composite is provided to suppress the production of borosilicate glasses that reduce a Si source required for the production of SiC, thereby facilitating the quantitative synthesis of SiC with a size of submicron or nanometer. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a zirconium boride-silicon carbide composite comprises following steps. (a) A first mixture is manufactured by mixing zircon and carbon. (b) A composite of silicon carbide and zirconium carbide is synthesized by heating the first mixture. (c) Boron carbide is mixed with the zirconium carbide and silicon carbide composite, and a second mixture is manufactured. And (d) the second mixture is heated, and the zirconium carbide substituted with zirconium boride, thereby synthesizing a composite of the silicon carbide and zirconium boride. In the step (b), synthesis temperature is in a range of 1300 to 1500C, synthesis time is in a range of 30 minutes to 2 hours. In the step (d), synthesis temperature is in a range of 1350 to 1550C, synthesis time is in a range of 30 minutes to 2 hours. The mole ratio of the boron carbide and zircon is 1:0.6 to 1:1.4. The mole ratio of C and zircon is 1:4 to 1:6.
