PURPOSE: A power-saving electronic display board and a power control method reduce power consumption of the LED electronic display board by supplying average power to an LED panel in normal and adding charging power when peak power is requested. CONSTITUTION: An image signal converted in an image conversion unit (20) is transmitted to an LED panel through a panel driving unit (50) and transmitted to a power inspection unit (30) and a CPU (40). The power inspection unit detects the maximum value, a minimum value, an average value, and a peak value for necessary power in content corresponding to the image signal and transmits the same to the CPU. The CPU controls the panel driving unit and controls power transmitted to the LED panel by controlling a power control unit (60) according to a program stored in an electrically erasable and programmable read only memory (EEPROM,70).
